THE O.E. ELLIS SOCIETY
OF GREATER KANSAS CITY
The O.E. Ellis Society was formed in 1984 by nine young burgeoning businessmen with an ‘eye’ toward the betterment of our great city. Membership has grown steadily to our present ranks of over 100 men. In the early days of the Kansas City Spirit Festival, the men of the O.E. Ellis Society were responsible for implementing and running logistics for the event.
The first photograph here was taken at an early informal meeting at the now-defunct Longbranch in the West Bottoms. Several of the charter members are still active and involved in O.E. Ellis. The second photo is an old favorite meeting spot, the legendary Arthur Bryant's.
The mission of the O.E. Ellis Society is simply the betterment of the Kansas City metropolitan area, in the areas of greatest need, consistent with the skills and passions of its membership.
The O.E. Ellis Foundation, and the O.E. Ellis Society are Missouri, non-profit corporations with Federal Code 26 U.S.C. 501(c)(3) status.
